Brett Kaplan is a Marketing Associate with WorkSpaces, LLC in Washington, DC, where he has a special interest in green buildings. Brett has a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from New York University and received his MBA at GW in 2008, focusing on environmental management of small businesses.

Jeremiah Kelly

Jeremiah Kelly is a Congressional Affairs Specialist at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in Washington, D.C. He previously worked for the U.S. Army Center for Environmental Health Research and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Jeremiah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Maryland College with a double major in Political Science and Biology. He currently is pursing his Master of Arts degree in Public Policy, with a concentration in Environmental and Natural Resource Policy.

Garrett Kephart

Garrett Kephart is working as a Senior Associate & Account Leader for PointB in Seattle, WA. He focuses on the intersection of energy, sustainability, and business innovation. Garrett worked for the Center for Clean Air Policy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Colby College, where he graduated in 2003. Garrett received his Master of Arts degree in Public Policy with a concentration in Environmental and Resource Policy from GW in 2008.

Claudia Kessel

Claudia Kessel graduated from the University of Illinois in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Claudia, who received her Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Resource Policy from GW in 2007, plans to work for an environmental NGO in Washington, D.C., upon graduation.

Negar Khalili

Negar Khalili received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Azad University in Tehran, Ira, in December 2014. She received her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW while working as an Environmental Planning Intern at WSP.

Nassim Khalili

Nassim Khalili is from Iran, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Qazvin University in 2007. She also obtained a Master's degree in Strategic Project Management from the Heriot Watt University, United Kingdom, in 2009. Nassim graduated with a Master of Science degree in Environmental Energy Management from GW. She works in Program Controls as a Cost Engineer for the California High Speed Rail project  at WSP.

Sandra Khananusit

Sandra Khananusit is currently serving as Head of Planning and Coordination for Asia at LEDS Partnership Secretariat. Previously, she was an Energy Efficiency Associate with ICF International in Washington DC. Sandra received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and International Economics from the University of Virginia in 2007, followed by her Master of Arts degree in International Development Studies from GW in 2012.

Riham Hussein Khraiwish

Riham Hussein Khraiwish received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Amman, Jordan, in 1998. Riham graduated with a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at GW in 2001.

Rachell Kim earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Computer Science at GW.

Youngil Kim

Youngil Kim is from South Korea. He graduated in 2004 from Korea University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Youngil received a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the New York University, where he graduated in 2009. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power and energy, from GW, where he graduated in 2013. He has since graduated with a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from GW.

Pamela King

Pamela King works as a reporter for E&E Publishing, LLC, focusing on reporting, editing, web site production, public relations, marketing, geologic mapping, environmental writing, and politics. Previously, she worked for the Environmental and Energy Publishing Operation. Pamela graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern University in 2010 and completed her Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Natural Resource Policy at GW in 2013.

Christin Kjelland

Christin Kjelland graduated from Knox College in 2005 with a double major in International Relations and Environmental Studies. Chrisie, who worked for an environmental consulting firm in Minneapolis from 2006 to 2007 and also spent a year in Korea, received her Master of Arts and International Affairs degree from GW with a focus on Natural Resources Development in 2011.

Sheri Klingensmith

Sheri Klingensmith is working as an Analyst for The Cadmus Group, Inc’s energy division. Her responsibilities include energy efficiency programs, green fiancing, and writing and editing work proposals and deliverables. She received her Bachelors degree in Biology from Youngstown State University in 2001. Sheri completed her Masters studies in Environmental and Resource Policy at GW.

Althea Koburger

Althea Koburger received her undergraduate degree in Business and East Asian Studies from Skidmore College in 2006.  Althea worked as a Research Assistant in the Elliott School at GW as she pursued her Master of Arts degree in International Affairs, which she received in 2012.

Dr. Vlad Kochura

Dr. Vlad Kochura was a Visiting Scholar at GW. Vlad hails from Ukraine, where he is a member of the academic faculty at the Donetsk State Technical University. Vlad received his Ph.D. degree from Donetsk State in 1992.

George Korvah

George Korvah, originally from Liberia, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the Moscow Mining Institute, Moscow, Russia. George is fluent in his native language Lorma, as well as in Russian and English. He received his Master of Engineering Management degree in Environmental and Energy Management. George, who recently attained his U.S. citizenship, works for ECG, Incorporated in Vienna, Virginia and recently completed the GW certificate Program in Client/Server Technology.

Mark Kowaleski

Mark Kowaleski is pursuing his Doctor of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW. He has worked for NASA since 1990 and currently is the Associate Director for Systematic Measurements in the Office of Earth Science at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Mark received his B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Scranton in 1990 and a M.S. degree in Systems Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University in 1998.

Brian Krausz

Brain Krausz hails from sunny California. Brian, who worked for a couple of years as a Physicist for two organizations in California prior to coming to GW, got his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley in 2005. Brian received his MS in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in May 2009.

Lauren Krizel

Lauren Krizel works as an Operations Manager at the Society for Conservation Biology in Washington, D.C. She holds two undergraduate degrees -- one in Environmental Science and the other in Public Communications -- from the American University in Washington, D,C., where she graduated in 2011. Lauren graduated with her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2015.

Elizabeth Krone

Elisabeth Krone graduated from Towson University in Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2002. Elizabeth received her Master of Arts degree and Environmental and Natural Resources Policy from GW in 2010.

Frank Kulsea

Frank Kulsea is a Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard who pursued his graduate education at GW on a Coast Guard Fellowship. Frank received his Bachelor Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University, where he graduated in 2004. He graduated from GW with his Master of Public Arts degree in 2012.

Greg Kupka

Greg Kupka works as a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist in the Office of Risk Management at GW. Greg received his Bachelor Science degree in Environmental Policy from Rutgers University in 1998. Greg received his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in May 2009.

Joe Lally

Joe Lally is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Coast Guard, where he is assigned as a Marine Safety Officer with extensive experience in inspecting marine vessels of all types for environmental and safety violations. Joe obtained his undergraduate degree from Saint Joseph's University in 1988 and graduated from GW with a Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management in May 2007.

Juleen Lam

Juleen Lam received two Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Mathematics and one in Environmental Toxicology, from the University of California at Davis, where she graduated in 2003. Juleen, who also has pursued graduate studies at the Florida State University, received her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2006. During her graduate work at GW, Juleen worked as an Intern and Research Assistant at the Global Environment and Technology Foundation in Arlington, Virginia.

Victoria Lawrence

Victoria Lawrence is from the Caribbean nation of Saint Kitts. Victoria received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in mechanical engineering from Howard University in the District of Columbia. She received her Doctor of Science degree in the EMSE Department at GWin 2009.

Hannah Lee

Hannah Lee is working as a strategy specialist for C3 Energy in San Francisco. Previously, she served as an intern with the US Department of Justice. Hannah received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2003, followed by her Master of Public Administration degree from GW in 2012.

Ted Leopkey

Ted Leopkey works as a program analyst for the U.S. Environmental Projection Agency in Washington, D.C. Ted graduated from the University of New Brunswick in eastern Canada with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997. Ted also obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in 1999 from the Queens University, Ontario, and completed his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2006.

Mark Lessans

Mark Lessans received his Bachelor Science degree in Architecture from the University of Maryland, where he graduated in 2009. Mark graduated from GWU with a Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management while a Fellow in Building Technologies at the US Department of Energy in Washington, DC. He is currently an Energy Efficiency Analyst at Ingersoll Rand.

Abel Levin

Abel Levin is an Energy Analyst with New West Technologies, which is a consulting firm working in support of the US Department of Energy in Washington DC. Abel received his Bachelor of Science degree and Energy Technology from the University of California at Berkeley in 2009. He graduated with his his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2012.

Xing (Aaron) Li

Xing (Aaron) Li received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the Guangdong University of Technology in China in 2013. Aaron graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Environmental Resource Policy from GW. He now works for the International Fund for China’s Environment.

Hao Liang

Hao Liang received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the Florida International University in 2014.  Hao graduated with his Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from GW in 2017. 

Dr. Daisy Ligon

Dr. Daisy Ligon completed her doctoral research in 2001 under sponsorship of the Transportation Environmental Research Program of the Federal Highway Administration. Daisy is a Lead Engineer with the Mitretek Corporation in Northern Virginia. In her job at Mitretek, Daisy directs a team of technical and nontechnical specialists in the preparation of environmental impact statements and the performance of regulatory analysis in the environmental arena.

Jiaquan Liu

Jiaquan Liu graduated from Tianjin University in China with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. She received her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2017; while working at China Telecom in America.

Hope Lobkowicz

Hope Lobkowicz works as a senior analyst at The Cadmus Group. Previously, she served as a Government Affairs Associate for the National Environmental Trust. Hope received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Marys College in Maryland in 2005, followed by her Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Resource Policy at GW in 2009.

Patrick Lucchese

Patrick Lucchese is from Brazil. Patrick obtained his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from GW in 2002. During the Fall 2004 semester, Patrick began working as a manager for a new company formed after ratification by Russia of the Kyoto Climate Treaty in 2004. The new company is working on using carbon dioxide credits to facilitate reforestation and development in the Amazon region of Brazil.

Christiana Ludlow

Christiana Ludlow received her Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Environmental Science from the University of Sussex in 2007. Christi, who worked in the GW Geography Department as a Research Assistant during her graduate studies, received her Master of Arts degree in Geography from GW in 2013.

James Lynch

James Lynch, a 2007 E&EM Master of Science graduate, joined the U.S. Department of Energy's Environmental Management Professional Development Corps August, 2008. Jim, who now is working in Richland, Washington for DOE, said that landing my first real job in the government is very exciting and I owe a lot to the great education I received at GW. Jim reports that he is doing nuclear clean-up, pollution prevention, and environmental security with the Office of River Protection, and will be undertaking rotational; assignments around the country for two years. After that, he will have the opportunity to go back to school or receive a non-competitive placement with one of the offices.

Jennifer Lynette

Jennifer Lynetter currently serves as an Environmental Scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Miami, from which she graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Biology. Jennifer received her Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Resource Policy from GW in 2012.

Dr. Na'ill M.H. Al-Momani

Dr. Na'ill M.H. Al-Momani is from Amman, Jordan. He currently works for The International Emergency Management Society(TIEMS) in the Middle East and North Africa(MENA) Region. He serves as the MENA Chapter and TIEMS International Program Committee (TIPC) Co-Director. He is also the founder and Managing Partner of Excellence in Business Continuity and Crisis Management at the King Abdul Aziz University in Saudi Arabia. Na'ill taught at the Hasemite University in Amman, Jordan. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Jordan in 1997, followed by his Master of Science in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from the same university. Na'ill received his Doctor of Science degree in Crisis and Emergency Management from GW in 2001.

Christopher MacDonald is a Project Engineer at the Naval Sea Systems Command in northern Virginia. Mac graduated from the University of Maryland in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He completed his MBA degree in Environmental Policy and Management at GW in 2006, and is particularly interested in developing energy efficient and renewable energy technologies.

Rohit Maddineni works as a resource executive for Bartronics America Inc. Rohit received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from VNR VSIET in 2008. He graduated with his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2011.

Dawn Marie Mancini

Dawn Marie Mancini presently works as an intern at Prizim in Washington DC. She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Science education. Dawn Marie received her Master of Business Administration degree from GW in 2011.

Nilay Manzagol

Nilay Manzagol presently is working on her PhD degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW. Previously she received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Mamara University in Turkey in 1997 and graduate degrees from the Georgia State University in 2013. Presently, Nilay is working as an economist at the US Department of Energy.

Eric Marble

Eric Marble is an engineer with the U.S. Marine Corps. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Mississippi in 1989. With his successful completion of the Air Quality Management course in the spring 2000 semester, Eric completed all requirements for a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at GW and graduated in May 2000. Eric presently is working with the Marine Corps in Japan.

Katia Marchesini

Katia Marchesini currently is working as a Project Manager with the Energy and Security Group in Northern Virginia, specializing in environmental and energy projects in Latin America. Katia obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management in El Salvador in 1997. She received her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in May 2008.

Joshua Marks

Joshua Marks graduated from GW with his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2017, while serving as a star on the GW squash team.

Sheena Martenies

Sheena Martenies is a doctoral student at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Previously she worked as a Research Assistant in the Perry Laboratory, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, School of Public Health and Health Sciences, at GW. Sheena earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the San Diego State University in 2008. She graduated with her Master of Public Health degree in Environmental Health from GW in 2015.

Nick Martin

Nick Martin came to GW to pursue his graduate education after serving with the Peace Corps in Kazakhstan. Nick, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Department of Environmental Sciences at Southwest Missouri State University, received his master's degree in Environmental Management and Public Policy at GW in 2003.

Helaina Matza

Helaina Matza holds the position of Associate Advancement Program Officer at World Warning in Washington, D.C. She graduated with her undergraduate degree from GW in 2008 and presently received her Master of Public Administration degree with a focus in Program Evaluation and Global Environmental Management from GW in 2013.

Mili Mavely

Mili Mavely received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (with honors) form the University of Delphi in 1995. She graduated from GW with a Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Resources Policy in May 2002. During her studies, Mili served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with the Environmental and Energy Management Program and as an Environmental Intern with the National Association of Home Builders.

Thomas A. McCrary

Thomas A. McCrary is an Environmental Engineer with the Chesapeake Division of the U.S. Navy. Tom obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute in 1991. Tom graduated from GW with his Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering in May 2000 and has traveled overseas to pursue his career with the Navy.

Kristy McDonnell

Kristy McDonnell is an Energy Engineer with Pace Global Energy Services in Fairfax, Virgniia. While at GW, Kristy was a Presidential Administrative fellow with the School of Engineering and Applied Science at GW and completed an assignment as a Presidential Intern with the Office of Science and Technology Policy at the White House. Kristy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at GW in 1999 and graduated with a Master of Engineering Management degree in Environmental and Energy Management in May 2001.

John McKnight

John McKnight is the Director of Environmental Safety and Compliance at the National Marine Manufacturers Association in Washington, D.C. John, who is frequently quoted in trade and environmental publications, graduated from the Kean College of New Jersey in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Joshua McNary

Joshua McNary is an instructor with the National Outdoor Leadership School. Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from the Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Texas in 2001. He currented his Master of Arts degree in International Development Studies at GW in 2006.

Lisa McWhirter

Lisa McWhirter works for the Cadmus Group, Inc. in Northern Virginia, where she assists with the regulatory program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia, where she graduated in 1998. She completed an M.S. degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2002.

Anuja Mehta

Anuja Mehta received her Bachelor of Technology degree from the I.C.T. (U.D.C.T.) in India in 2008. Anuja also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from S.P.J.M.R. in India, where she graduated in 2010. She graduated with her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2014.

Dulce Helena Meldau

Dulce Helena Meldau hails from Brazil. Dulce holds undergraduate degrees in administration and foreign trade, and a graduate degree in business management, from FGV in Brazil. She received her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2011.

Seth Menter

Seth Menter works as a Research Analyst at BCS Incorporated. He provides programmatic and analytical support to the BETO leadership team to facilitate operational, communications, and strategic planning efforts. Previously, he was a Manager of Forest Restoration for the American Forests NGO. Mark received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Environmental Principles and Practices from Miami University, where he graduated in 2005. He graduated with his Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Resource Policy from GW in 2015.

David Merritt

David Merritt works for the Federal Aviation Administration as a Researcher. David graduated with his Bachelor of Science and Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from GW in May 2009.

Tim Meyer

Tim Meyer received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 2006. He received his Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Resource Policy from GW in 2011.

Kisa Mfalila

Kisa Mfalila is from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1992 from the University College of Lands and Architectural Studies in Dar es Salaam, and her Master of Science degree from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, in February 2000. Between her university studies, Kisa worked for six years in Tanzania as a Quantity Surveyor, a position in which she has heavily engaged in cost engineering. Kisa pursued a Professional Degree (Degree of Engineer) in Environmental and Energy Management at GW.

Dorine Jn Paul Michel is a Fulbright Scholar. She received her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2010. Dorine, who is from Haiti, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 2004 from the Science Faculty State University.

Neil Mihalich works for Allegheny Science and Technology in Washington, DC. Neil obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from GW in 2010 and received his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2012.

Theomar Milford is and Associate Engineer with PEPCO Energy Services. Theo received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University in Washington, DC in 2007. He graduated with his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2012.

Veronica Miniello

Veronica Miniello received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics of the New York University at 2012. Presently Veronica isgraduated with a Master of Arts degree in Geography from GW. She is currently an Associate at Delta Associates.

Rayyan Mirza

Rayyan Mirza received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Umm A-Qura University in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where he graduated in 2010. He received his Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a focus on water resources, from GW in 2014.

Disha Modi

Disha Modi works as a Senior Officer in the Corporate Sustainability Cell at Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services in Mumbai, India. Disha received her Bachelor of Management Studies degree from the University of Mumbai, where she graduated in 2009. Disha also holds a Master of Commerce and Management degree from the University of Mumbai, which she received in 2011. She graduated with her Master of Business Administration degree from GW in 2015.

Yalda Mokhayeri

Yalda Mokhayeri holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Sherif University in Iran, when she graduated in 1998. Yalda obtained her Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at GW.

Amy Montalbano

Amy Montalbano graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Economics from Dickinson College and recently obtained her Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Resource Policy at GW. Amy currently works for Baldwin, Molina and Escoto, a Washington D.C. law firm.

Giovanna Monti

Giovanna Monti hails from Italy. She holds a graduate degree in Environmental and Planning Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy, which he received in 2000. Giovanna has extensive experience working in soil and groundwater remediation sector in Italy. She writes for the Italian Association of Environmental and Planning Engineers, and is the co-chair of the International Special Interest Group of the Women's Council on Energy and the Environment. She graduated from GW with Professional Degree in Environmental and Energy Management in 2011.

Thomas Mooney

Thomas Mooney works as a Environmental Analyst at the logistics Management Institute, where he supports the environmental programs of the US Department of the Army. Tom received his bachelor's degree in Political Science, with a certificate in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin at Madison 2004. Tom graduated with his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2012.

Hannah Moskowitz is a graduate of GW’s Environmental Studies and Political Science program and earned her Master of Arts degree in Environmental Resource Policy from GW in 2017. She currently works as a Sustainability Analyst at American University. 

Amanul Mulk

Amanul Mulk completed his Master of Science in Environmental Engineering at GW in 2000. Prior to coming to GW, he was an Assistant Professor at the Peshawar Engineering University, Peshawar, Pakistan. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering (1989), along with a Master of Science degree in Mining Engineering (1993), from the Peshawar Engineering University. After graduating from GW, Amanul returned to Peshawar, where he communicates with us via the Internet.

Patrick Murphy

Patrick Murphy received his Bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame and his Master of Arts degree in Science and Technology Policy from GW, were he graduated in 2000. Patrick then graduated with an EMSE Ph.D. by developing a new method for determining the cost of reliable electricity, considering grid unreliability, focusing especially on the situation in Uganda. He is currently the Director of Public Sector Engagement at PARC.

Matthew Murray

Matthew Murray is a Research Associate at A.I.R. in Washington, D.C. Matt received his Bachelor of Arts degree and History and Economics from the Michigan State University, where he graduated in 2009. He received his Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from GW in 2011.

Kandasemy Nareshkumar

Kandasemy Nareshkumar is from Sri Lanka, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 2002 from the University of Moratuwa. Naresh completed his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2006.

Liam Nealon graduated from GW in May 2015 with his Bachelor Science degree in Systems Engineering, taking several EEM graduate courses during his undergraduate program and works as a SAS Analyst at Gunnison Consulting Group, Inc.

 
 
Mimi Nguye

Mimi Nguyen is a 2016 GW graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering.  She earned her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW.

Anzel Nichols

Anzel Nichols got his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies at the University of West Georgia in 2014.  Zel received hes Master’s degree in Geography in 2017; while at Anthropologic in Washington, D.C.

Tanachai Nilkhiew

Tanachai Nilkhiew hails from Thailand. Tanachai received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Science from the King Mongkut University of Technology in Thailand in 2000, and his Master of Science degree in E&EM at GW in 2005.

Michael R. Nosbisch

Michael R. Nosbisch is a Construction Division Scheduling Manager at the URS Radian International Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology (1988) from the University of Rochester. Mike completed his Master of Engineering Management degree in Environmental and Energy Management in May 2000. Mike maintains his relationship with us by teaching project management in an adjunct capacity at GW.

John Nwoke

John Nwoke, originally from Nigeria, works for a government agency in the Washington, DC metro area. He is actively engaged in environmental, energy management, abatement and health risk assessment matters. John holds a Professional Engineering license from Canada since 1996. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Memorial University of Newfoundland in Newfoundland, Canada in 1991. After graduation, he worked for the Department of Environment and Labor, Province of Newfoundland, before relocating to the Washington, D.C. area in the spring of 2000. He received a Master of Engineering Management degree in Environmental and Energy Management in 2003.

Antoinette Nyomba

Antoinette Nyomba is from Libreville, the capital city of Gabon, Africa. Antoinette, who has extensive experience in environmental and public health in various senior positions in the federal government in Gabon, holds a Master of Arts degree in Biology. Antoinette received her Professional Degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in May 2009.

Ross H. Ogden

Ross H. Ogden currently works at Trout Unlimited. He received his BA degree from the Dickinson College in 1995 and obtained an MBA degree at GW.

Chelsea Olson

Chelsea Olson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Political Science and Russian, which she obtained from the Texas A&M University, graduating in 2011. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Environment Resource Policy from GW in 2014.

Dr. Rosa Isabel Orellana

Dr. Rosa Isabel Orellana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of New York, Buffalo, N.Y., and received her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from GW in 1994. Rosa graduated again from GW in 2000 with a Doctor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Environmental and Energy Management. Originally from El Salvador, Rosa works as an Environmental Specialist with the Environment Division of the International Finance Corporation, World Bank, in Washington, D.C. Prior to working at the World Bank, Rosa was an Environmental Consultant with the United States Committee for the United Nations Environmental Program in Washington, D.C.

Bill Ostrum

Bill Ostrum received his undergraduate degree in Government from the College of William and Mary in 2004. Bill recently left his position as a STEP Program Assistant at the National Science Foundation to accept a new position as and Environmental Assessment Analyst at the US Federal Highway Administration. He received his Master of Arts degree in Environmental Resource Policy from GW in 2013.

John Adekunle Owoyemi

John Adekunle Owoyemi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Engineering University at Lagos, Nigeria, where he graduated in 2000. Subsequently, John worked for two years in London, England, where he worked in the area of waste disposal and air quality management. He completed his Master is Science studies in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2005.

Melis Ozturk

Melis Ozturk works for the American History Museum of the Smithsonian Institution. Melis, who originally is from Turkey, graduated in 2000 from Marymount University with a major in Environmental Policy. She received her Master's degree in Environmental and Resource Policy at GW in May 2002.

August Pabst

August Pabst works as a Program Analyst at the US Agency for International Development in Washington, DC. August holds a Master of Arts degree in History, which he obtained from Boston College, graduating in 2005. August graduated with his Master of Science degre in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2013.

Holly Padgett

Holly Padgett worked as a student employee on climate change issues at the Wildlife Science Center of the United States Geological Survey, Department of the Interior, during her graduate studies. Holly holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated in 2009. She graduated with a Master of Public Administration degree from GW in 2013.

Allison Paisner

Allison Paisner got her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a Public Policy focus, from GW in 2014. She earned a Master of Public Policy degree from GWU with an Environmental Policy concentration. She is a Capital City Fellow at the District Department of Transportation (DDOT).

Yunzhu Pan

Yunzhu Pan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. She presently is pursuing her Master of Science degree in Engineering Management at GW.

 

Dianna Parker

Dianna Parker and works at the National Audubon Society as a policy program assistant. Dianna graduated from the University of Maryland in 2005 with a degree in journalism. She received her master's degree in environmental and natural resources policy from GW in 2008.

Carolina Pena

Carolina Pena, a 2008 graduate of the E&EM program, has moved to the Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Program at the Organization of American States. She is part of a team working in a project that will increase the sustainability of the energy sector in seven Caribbean countries, with a focus on renewable and efficiency. Carolina says that the new position represents a significant advancement of her professional career.

Tian Peng

Tian Peng received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Toronto – Scarborough, where she graduated in 2011. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree from GW. He now works for the International Fund for China’s Environment.

Manuel Perez

Manuel Perez, hailing from Puerto Rico, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus, in 2001 and his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from GW.

Luis Rodrigo Perez

Luis Rodrigo Perez is a Carlos Slim Fellow from Mexico.  Luis received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, with a minor is Systems Engineering, from ITESM.  He received his Master of Science agree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2017.

Amanda Peterka

Amanda Peterka is a reporter for the electronic environmental news media organization Environment and Energy Publishing, which publishes the well-known daily environmental update Greenwire.   Amanda received her undergraduate degree in Journalism from the Michigan State University in 2009 and graduated with her Master of Arts degree in Environmental Resource Policy from GW in 2012.

Cynthia Phillip

Cynthia Phillip currently works at the George Washington University Hospital as a Registered Nurse/Team Leader. She holds two BSc degrees: in Nursing and Environmental Studies. Cynthia completed her Master's degree in Environmental Engineering at GW in 2003.
