In February and March 2016, EEMI Professors Scott Sklar and Michael Ware were the stars of two-day short courses on “Renewable Energy Management & Finance” (February 24-25) and “Solar Photovoltaics” (March 17 – 18). Both courses were conducted in GW’s Center for Professional Development. EEMI adjunct faculty member Scott Sklar is President of the Stella Group, and EEMI adjunct faculty member Michael Ware is Managing Director of Advance Capital Markets. Profs. Jonathan Deason and Joe Cascio (EMSE) organized and spoke at the events.

The EEMI’s new series of on–campus professional short courses is being conducted in partnership with the European Energy Centre, headquartered in Scotland. The new partnership combines the experience of GW as a leading worldwide academic institution with the vocational training expertise of the EEC that has worked for 40 years with major universities, leading global authorities and the United Nations Environment Programme.

The courses are designed for busy professionals who aim to up-skill in the renewable energy industry. They are open to all professionals and students, from those with technical backgrounds to others who have no prior experience.

The next two scheduled short courses are as follows:
• August 4-5, 2016 “Multi-Aspect Introduction to Solar Photovoltaics” course, Rome Hall, Room 201 – taught by Professor Scott Sklar
• October 20-21, 2016 - “Renewable Energy Management & Finance” course – Rome Hall, Room 201 – taught by Professors Scott Sklar and Michael Ware
