In February 2020, the GW Board of Trustees established a high-level Task Force on Environmental, Social, and Governance responsibilities. This action was in response to on-going discussions among many members of the University community, including students, faculty and other stakeholders.
The Board’s objectives are as follows:
• Provide an institutional statement of beliefs on environmental, social, and governance responsibility
• Address a broad range of environmental, social, and governance issues
• Establish a process to consider proposals from the GW community
• Promote education, research, and intellectual debate
• Inform constituents about policies, practices, and obligations
The Task Force has focused initially on the environmental issues in ESG and has drafted a set of initial recommendations at the link below.
The task force will continue to accept feedback from the GW community in the coming months.
